I can't wait

Until it is time to do holiday baking! I don't wait until December to start - I usually begin in late October. That way I have everything all done and ready to go and I can pull out the cakes and cookies from the freezer to frost when I need them. So much easier that way - and the everything tastes just the same as if I had slaved all day in the kitchen making them the day before. Except this way I get to enjoy the holidays more.

I also can't wait until Miss S is old enough to join me in the kitchen. It is going to be so much fun teaching her to bake. I can't wait.

Of course all she does now is this all day:

But I did catch her making some baby babble sounds yesterday, the goos-goos and gahs. Very, very cute. And she started blowing raspberries, which made us both die with laughter. She is pretty good with the spit bubbles I will say.

Yes I did

Make a Fairy door for Sarah's room - Jason doesn't get it but I think it is adorable.

Busy weekend

We had a busy weekend - so we ended up taking naps yesterday. Here is S with her nanny dog - I swear this dog thinks she is the mommy. Every little cry that comes out of S's mouth Coco shoots me a look of "now why did my baby cry, you clearly aren't doing your job if the baby cries" really, I have a dog making me feel like an inferior mother.

And of course I have another project for S's room....little bear hooks, I mean how cute are these? Found them at Hobby Lobby in the clearance aisle. The white paint was chipping pretty bad, so after some time with the Dremmel tool they are....
Little chocolate brown bears! I think I will give them little pink hair bows, or maybe pink bow ties. I thought I could make them little tulle skirts and make them ballerina bears but when I got to looking at them I thought it would look weird, with their leg sticking up like that for the hook it would cause the tulle skirt to just look strange.

First time in the Bumpo chair

Sarah sat in her Bumpo chair for the first time yesterday - but I think we still need to wait a little while longer because I don't think she is quite ready yet. She can and is holding up her head but she will still lose control of it from time to time.

Of course when we put her in it first thing she did was stick out her tongue at us:

Then I think she realized that this was something new and we got this face:

But this face wasn't anything near to the face I got last night during the Thunderstorm! We finally got some real rain last evening along with thunder and at the first big boom her eyes got REAL big and her little bottom lip started to quiver, I felt horrible for her. So I scooped her up and Jason and I began to laugh and make funny faces about the thunder. She never broke out in to a full on cry so I guess she was okay with it.

It is nice and cool here this morning, 74 degrees. Which is like being in the Arctic for us during this time of the year. We usually are still in 100 degree weather. Today will be a nice break from the heat!

Random pictures by Jason

This is the kind of picture I find when Jason has gotten a hold of the camera, yes that would be me sleeping blissfully while he wakes up the dogs to take their picture. Clearly we all wake up with bad hair around here.

And he also took the one below of Sarah - this is her new favorite way to suck her fingers. She is in no way interested in a pacifier but finds her fingers fascinating. At least it isn't her thumb....yet.
