I confess - I was a failed homemaker and Southern Woman. I was distressed last year to find out that I had not followed the crowds and made a glitter pumpkin, glitter candlestick, glitter fruit anything!
It was laying heavy on my soul....how could even hold my head up knowing that I hadn't gussied up anything with fancy glitter the Martha way? How could I call myself a homemaker? How could I continue to deceive myself that I was a Southern belle de jour? How much longer could I let this go on?
It was solved this past weekend - I went to Michaels with a coupon in my hot little hand and dashed to the MS aisle, running over several other MS devotees in the process. Making sure that I had the glitter all to myself I picked out my favorite color and grabbed some fake fruit.
And this is what happened:
Lowly little pear meet Glitter - your new best friend
Pears all gussied up and ready for the ball.....okay, ready for Christmas. (Yes, I start planning for Christmas in August around here)
I could do a makeover show for pears......

I have a glass cake/pie stand like yours!!! heeheee!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I keep mine out on the counter in the kitchen. It has a paper lace doily in it too. I like to out muffins and cookies in there and pies too and pretend my kitchen looks like a 1920s diner. It's a sickness!
Cute pears. I haven't glittered anything either. MS would throw me in crafter's jail.
LOL, April. The pears turned out adorable.
